WHAT IS TEMPO DOELOE?

Tempo Doeloe is a cultural concept adopted by PPIA University of Melbourne since 2023 to bring the colourful glamour of Indonesia to the land of Melbourne, shown though a representation of a day market. Through this event, we aim to provide a welcoming and festive platform for people to interact and experience the history and culture of Indonesia.Our event title, "Tempo Doeloe", has a very special meaning. In Bahasa Indonesia, Tempo means "time" and Doeloe means "a time of old". Tempo Doeloe represents a recollection of the days of the past, the history where the intangible heritage of Indonesia blossoms through our very lives. Through Tempo Doeloe, we wish to enliven the spirits of fellow Indonesians who have voyaged far to the land Down Under, longing for a touch of home and its kindred.

VISION

To establish a venue for social congregation, aiming to promote and showcase Indonesian culture. This event serves as a platform for people across Melbourne to come together and engage in authentic Indonesian experiences, enjoy unique cultural traditions, and build meaningful connections in a festive and welcoming atmosphere.
